Board your flight from Mumbai to Delhi. Overnight stay in Delhi
Early morning, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Rovaniemi. Arrive in Rovaniemi by evening. Check-in for the next three nights in Santa Claus' "official" hometown.
After breakfast, go on an Arctic dog sled ride in the snow. The Husky dogs are eager to get out on the track and warm-up. Each sledge will have two of us accompanied by six huskies. We will learn about the Siberian Husky’s over a warm drink in a traditional tent around fire. Later proceed to visit the Arktikkum museum. On our return, dinner and overnight in the hotel.
After breakfast, those who want to experience snowmobiling will proceed to the activity centre and will get into overall clothing to enjoy a snowmobile safari on a frozen river and into the wild(optional). In the late afternoon, we will drive to the Santa Village and experience the Christmas festivities in the residence of Santa. We will also have the opportunity to get some pictures clicked with Santa. Overnight in the hotel.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Kiruna, will take you through a blanket of snow and bring you close to experiencing the winter in Scandinavia. Evening is free to take a walk in the town.
We will visit the ice hotel after breakfast, which is created entirely of the most unique material, snow, and ice. Located in northern Sweden in the town of Jukkasjärvi, the Ice Hotel is the world's first ice hotel. Our drive to Norway and to the town of Harstad will take us through the town of Abisko where the largest lake of Scandinavia is located. As we descend into Norway through a mountain pass we will witness the Harstad Fjord. A fjord due to the warm arctic gulf stream never freezes even if the temperatures outside are in the negative. Tonight, weather permitting we might have our first sighting of the Northern Lights.
We'll proceed to Tromso today by road, driving through few of the most scenic roads you will ever come across. After reaching we will check-in and have some time to explore before beginning our hunt for the Northern Lights.
Following a leisurely breakfast, we will embark on a city tour, followed by a cable car ride to the top of Mt Storsteinen (421m) for a fine view of the city. We'll visit the Polaris Museum after being awed by the city view from the top, where we'll learn about the unusual, frigid seas of the Nordic North and see some of the Arctic's fish and animal species. This evening will be devoted to the hunting of the northern lights only if the earlier evening was a no-show, otherwise, we would try for a repeat show of the lights on an optional basis*.
After an early breakfast, we will drive across the picturesque scenery before arriving at Camp Tamok. At the camp, we will enjoy a ride on a reindeer sled and feel the icy breeze on our faces and post that spend some time at the Sami camp, where we will eat a home-cooked lunch over an open fire in the herder's tent, before returning to Tromso. Evening is free for last-minute shopping for Norwegian cheese and other local products.
After a leisurely breakfast, we will head to the airport to board the flight to Delhi and Once you reach Delhi proceed to board your flight to Mumbai the next morning.
The temperature falls into the range of 0 to -20 most of the time. It might feel even colder when it’s windy.
It’s important to layer up. Your layers should include thermal wear, a regular t-shirt, a fleece jacket, and a windcheater. Make sure to cover up your feet, hands, and head with the necessary accessories.
Your shoes should have a good grip and essentially should also cover your ankles. We recommend buying Quechua from any Decathlon store.
